Hi Al

Thanks for that. Glad to know what the problem is.

However having only had my current security for a while I may as well have my moneys worth.

I will buy your suggestion next time.

I have looked for banner blockers on the internet and found a few, however my current security will not let the program install. Think next move is to turn security off and try program then.

Have noticed that we are initially bombarded with the dreaded banner, which then seems to fade away, can put up with that.

Have a great day.

Trev

cybertraveler,

I turned off my security package to see what you are viewing. Suffice it to say you are not getting "popups" but are viewing "banner advertisements" which have been embedded in the live feed. Anyone who views the feed will also view the embedded advertisement which generates revenue for the provider of the live feed (Africam).

If I were you, here is what I would do (not that I am telling you to do it LOL). I would get an internet security suite called Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. It is, in my opinion, the finest and most comprehensive security package available to protect your machine(s). One of the modules it contains is "Anti-Banner". When turned on, virtually all advertisements cease from everywhere you go. The suite is available on a 30-day free trial and once downloaded & installed, you are running the entire package for free!

To give it a try, click HERE for the trial download. Tell it to SAVE rather than RUN and save it to your desktop. Once there, you must turn off any toolbars which have adware/spyware/etc protection items in them (no longer needed) and uninstall all internet security packages on your machine (they would conflict with Kaspersky). Once done, double click the Kaspersky icon on your desktop and it will install. After it is installed, right click on the red K at the bottom right of the screen, then left click on settings. When the window opens, click on Anti-Banner on the left side and check the enable anti-banner box. Then click Apply followed by Close.

You will immediately be free of ads, popups, spyware, adware, trojans and every other imaginable virus.

If you decide to use it, there are other settings to be made to increase its speed and I can guide you on doing them.

Hope this helps you out.

Al

Hi

Thanks for that i will remove and reinstall

Pop ups at bottom of screen, take up about 25%, so as you can imagine are very intrusive.

They can either run close together, which is a right pain, or spread out which is a whole lot better

While as some one else mentioned, i can understand the need for revenue, once at start up would be plenty

cybertraveler,

While the Adobe Settings Manager will allow you to change the parameters within the FlashPlayer, it will not affect popups which appear on your screen.

==========================================

You can easily reset all the Flashplayer settings by doing a complete uninstall and then a new install of the current flash player. (The Adobe special uninstall program will remove all existing flash tables from your machine).

Go HERE and follow their procedure to uninstall all flash player versions and tables on your machine.

Then go HERE to download the new Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2. (Un-check the box labeled "Free Google Toolbar" before doing the download. You don't need more junk on your machine).

==========================================

As for the popup problem, where/when are they occuring?

have you tried the adobe.com website?  I also remember something about a url there that you can change the amount of cache etc that the flash player uses.  It is some sort of flash settings tool I think it was called.  I found this using google search and might be what you are looking for .. click here

Thank you for that Donna, as I remember the link relates to Adobe security settings rather than the flash player its self. I know I changed settings, as you can do in internet options, from moderate to low

Clicking on the open/close button for the pop up gets me adobe security settings but these seem to have little effect. The http I mentioned opened the said adobe settings
