Africam Chat Guidelines

We want Africam chat to be a relaxing place for people to come and visit ; we are open to people of all ages, genders, religions, races, and sexualities, so please don’t chat about any material which is abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, politically or sexually oriented or threatening. Steering clear of politics is a good choice too.

The same rules apply to unwanted private messaging in chat.

Your "nick": Please stay with your original nick (sign on). This allows people to get to know you. Also, please don’t choose a nick that may offend others or is generally or inappropriate or irritating.

Posting Links: We welcome the posting of links that are within the context of the room or conversation at that time. Please don’t post links to any  material or videos that could offend another user. It’s all about common sense. It's also advisable to use links in chat sparingly. please dont post links to unrelated cams or competing cams etc.

Other sites: We welcome open discussion about other Africa / animal related sites. What we do ask is that you not openly discuss competing cams out of respect for Africam. Negative comments about Africam and any other Africa related cam's or sites will be frowned upon.  Links to other Africa animal sites should not be posted as a courtesy to Africam.

Chat Operators: You should expect to see a chat operator in the room at all times, but don’t panic if you don’t see one, some ops may not be logged in, but they may well be monitoring the room. In the rare event that you are having a problem and no chat op steps in to assist, please leave the room and come back a bit later. It's not possible to guarantee an op being in the room at all times. Chat ops will have an @ symbol before their name. We want to know if you feel that you are being treated unfairly, were unfairly banned from the room or you have a complaint or better yet, a suggestion. Please email us at

 chatreport@africam.com

What will result in you being kicked out of the room or even banned are mostly common sense things like those noted above. We won’t allow chat hooliganism, acting weird or saying strange things, private messaging guests without an invite and generally being a nuisance to the audience. You will be warned, so that should be your queue to change things up, if you just can’t, we will be happy to give you a time out.

Please keep in mind that we have a diverse audience made up of people from around the world and of many different ages. If you have a chat buddy and you want to discuss a specific topic that probably won’t be appreciated or understood by all, then by all means, PM each other Smiling

Happy camming and chatting!!
