Hello everyone, I haven't been able to view anything in the past couple of weeks. Is anyone else having problems with their webcams? I emailed the site, but I haven't heard a thing from them. Dawn ![]()

Hello, I clicked on the Nkoro Pan link on the sidebar, and a popup window comes up. Once I see the popup, a commercial plays and all I see in the bottom left hand corner of the window is ready. I don't see the video. I just have a black screen. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. Dawn i've been having the same problem, but only for short periods. mostly between 10pm and sometime in the early morning, us eastern standard time. i click the sidebar, i get the advertisement, then it goes black and says ready. i click the button on the home page, same thing. i think its something to do with the home page, and i have a good reason so don't anybody get mad me! i spent hours on here saturday and had no problems at all. thankfully, because i saw 3 of the big 5. but tonight, i came back and couldn't even get the home page for a little bit. when i finally did get it, the cameras did the whole black screen and ready thing. so i went to the lodge websites themselves and click their links for the cams and got the pop window for nkorho perfectly, elephant plains still didn't come up, but i always seem to have problems with that one. so my advice to you dawnh44, is to try the lodge websites. it seemed to work for me. what truly sucks, is that the 10 til morning time i mentioned, is usually when the elephants and leopard are around, if i'm not asleep the cameras won't show me! i hope my rambling helped a little, if not, at least you know you're not alone!

Hi Dawn, do you have an alternate computer or location (maybe a friend's house) were you can try to login from? If it works from a different computer/location, compare the settings. Please keep us posted. __________________

All seems to be as it should be from what you say. Was there anything that you did between the time the cams worked ok for you and the time they stopped working such as something to change the security settings that might prevent the hand off from the commercial to the video stream? You are giving it enough time for the change over (up to 1 min). What is your actual internet download speed? you can see that in the right click "statistics" on the viewer when it is playing the commercial. Only suggestion I have for you otherwise is to dl and try to use firefox browser since with that one there is not hand off but direct to the video stream. hope this helps. edited to add: the cams have had periods recently where they were down for prolonged periods. You might check the daily waterhole chat thread to see if the cams are down when you aren't getting a cam as we usually all comment about the cams being down when that happen. __________________

Hello, I've been trying to view the live streaming on the Africam site. I've deleted the cookies, history and temporary internet files. I've rebooted several times. I've checked to make sure I have the most recent version on Internet Explorer. I also have the most recent version of Windows Media player. I haven't been able to see the live streaming in a couple of months. The following are my specs: OS - Windows XP Internet Connection - Roadrunner (Broadband) Brower: Internet Explorer 7 & Avant Firewall - Windows XP Virus Protector - McAfee Username - dawnh44 I've run Windows Update to see if I have the most recent updates. I do. At this point, I'm not sure what else I can do. Any help you have to offer would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Dawn
