All Things Cheetah

Have you ever wondered the names of the Cheetah's that visit the Nkorho Pan & Elephant Plains waterhole. How old are they, where did they come from, where did they go....!

Here is a site with a lot of different cheetah sounds.  It is interesting to hear that some of them sound like a bird chirping!

The Cheetah Chirping sound clip brings back a great memory of when I was in the Sabi Sands, doing my Eco-Training Game Ranger course.

We had been following 2 young male cheetah brothers but lost them in a dense thicket. When we drove around to the other side of the thicket, we found one of the cheetah who was frantically calling to his brother (who he had lost sight of) making this bird-like call.

After about 10 minutes of this his brother heard his call and came rushing out of the thicket - and they then spent a long time greeting each other as if they had been apart for years!

It was one of those 'kleenex' moments as the 2 brothers were so obviously relieved at being reunited!

Thanks for posting this link Ann!
