Hello, I am Chrissy. I currently live in CA not by choice though. I found this cam from a message board i belong to. I love the cam. I have showed it to my mom as well and she is loving it. First thing she did was download the stuff needed to take her own pictures so she can show my sis (still living at home) and her fience what she sees! I haven't seen much yet due to the time difference. Not much seems to go on at night (Africa time). I'm glad to have found this. I leave it open all the time. I like to hear the birds when there is nothing else going on.

Hey there everyone! I was wondering....I've put a good bit of great pictures into the highlights section but I never see them in there. Is it something I'm doing wrong or does the site only post a few pic's from the highlight cams?

Several days ago I brought a little 2 year old friend into the computer room to introduce him to Africam. Nothing to see at the water hole but he did get to hear Hyenas Whooping it up. I explained to him that that was the sound a Hyena makes..Whoooop. It made him jump when he heard it the first time, so of course that became his favorite animal sound. His Mom said he went around for days Whoooping, telling everyone the "Hiney" was coming. LOL

How deep is the waterhole?

What are the dimensions?

Is it a natural spring that remains full of water year round?

The lodge is part of a game preserve - do you hunt the animals or is it strictly pictures and study of nature?

How often do the animals wander too close to the lodge? Do the baboons become bothersome?

Are tourists ever allowed to actually walk to the waterhole?
