Ticks and lice
Submitted by cerinthe on Fri, 06/04/2007 - 11:56pm.This picture was posted by susanlami in the streaming cam pics thread on April 7th.

Doesn't the animal eventually get sick with so many of these lice on them?
If we humans walk in the veld, will we also get these lice on us and will we become sick?
Is the reason why they keep the grass so short around the lodge to keep the ticks and lice at some distance from the lodge?

I started watching Africam while she was gone, so I guess for me it is "pleased to meet you!"
Anyway, welcome back, Karin! Please tell Gabbi she is doing a great job and we're excited to have her here!

Introduction
Submitted by catlover on Fri, 06/04/2007 - 8:17am.Hi my name is Heather, I'm from Ontario Canada. I've been watching the cam for approx. 3 months now , and I can't get enough of it. However, I don't know enough about the sounds I hear at night to know what the animals are. I'm very afraid of hearing something that could be attacking something else. I have read some of the comments and I have yet to see a lion or a leapard, and wondering when is the most likely time to see one. I have seen pretty much everything else, .... I think. My favorite would be .... all of it.
