Congratulations to this Month’s Winner! 

August’s Photo Competition invited the Africam community to celebrate the spectacular Colours of the Wild. From vivid feathers and golden grasses to dramatic skies and the warm glow of the African sun, photographers captured the incredible palette of colours that brings the wild to life around our livestream cameras.

We’re delighted to announce that BowieWild is our August winner with her breathtaking image titled Elephants Illuminated by the Setting Linkwasha Sun, captured at Linkwasha.

The photograph beautifully captures a small herd of elephants bathed in the warm, golden light of the setting sun. Their silhouettes stand out against a richly coloured African sky, transforming an everyday moment at the waterhole into something truly magical. The soft evening light, striking composition, and beautiful contrast between the elephants and their surroundings create an image that perfectly embodies the Colours of the Wild. 

It is a wonderful reminder that some of the most captivating wildlife moments aren’t necessarily dramatic ones. Sometimes, it is simply about being in thr right place at the right time, with nature providing the perfect lighting.
