Greetings Africam Memebrs,

Tomorrow we are planning on upgrading our entire Africam platform. This will allow us to start to add some exciting new features for our registered users.

We plan to start at around 9/10am CAT and the whole process should take about 6 hours.

Although, you should not notice any major changes in how the site works, you will see little enhancements here and there. We anticipate a smoothe transition, but as with any major change there may be a few minor technical problems.

The Africam Team

oh..ok..thanks T'man...I was getting mixed up with the threads...lol...maybe I won't post it again there then as my previous post is already there and I'm sure they have other things they need to sort out first.

I got confused by the two links too Janice. This thread was just the announcement of the upcoming change the other thread was for posting any problems with the upgrade.  Here is the link I think you were looking for.  click here

Hi...thanks for all the work you are doing on the upgrade...seems to be coming together (the parts that I use anyway Smiling ).

I came here today and found nearly all the posts gone so I'll repost what I had before.  It's more of an enhancement than a technical problem.

For those of us who have our settings to 'newest first', when we go back through the posts and want to read them in order we end up at the top of the page.  But then we have to go all the way to the bottom again to select the next page.  Could the option of selecting another page be put at the top as well as the bottom of the page?

Also, there is no distinction between the opening comment when the thread is created, and the comments that people post in that thread afterward.  This gets a bit confusing when scrolling up through the new replies - the opening comment looks like a new reply all the time.  And the big 'reply' button at the top is above the opening comment, which means we have to go up past that comment all the time.  In the 'old' system, I think that button was between the opening comment and the latest reply.  Could it be put back to that position, (together with the option to select the different pages, as I mentioned above) so we don't have to go up past the opening comment all the time?  I don't know - this may only affect the 'newest first' members as I've never used any other setting

Many thanks Smiling

Hello -- I was away for a few weeks and I see changes have been made! Overall, I think it LOOKS much better. But I do have one question. I hope this is the right place to ask it?! On the "old" system, one was able to click on the previous day's date and view the pics from each previous day. I do not see that capability on the "new" screen. Is it still possible to click from one day to the next without going all the way back to the Forum listing?? Thanks for your help with this. And many, many thanks for the wonderful site in general.
