I am sorry. I hope they will report what was wrong. I would like to think his death was quick and merciful. Goodbye, dear Alexander.

I was very sad to read about Alexander's death last week. We were fortunate to see him in May last year at Mopani in the Kruger Park and I have a few lovely photos of him. Here is one of them. He was a very gentle, very relaxed animal and is a great loss. what a beautiful picture of Alexander, what a beautiful elephant he was ! Thank you for posting it Penny.

How sad this is. How anyone can doubt that animals have real feelings and emotions is beyond me. __________________

a very touching story & picture of a younger bull paying his last respects to Alexander, can be seen on the following page :
Oh that's so sad. Thanks Gerda. I wonder how many deaths could be linked to the virus infection? I wondered about that too. Maybe it's a common thing? I suppose animals pick up these things just as we do? Was thinking about him and I'm glad it happened this way. He was a grand ellie and he lived his life in the best place there is, and then lay down and went to sleep. __________________
