Nest Update

04/15/12:
We saw a couple photos on Sunday that seemed to show what could be two eggs in the nest, but it was hard to tell since the ospreys have a lot of big sticks near the nest cup.

A second egg should definitely come by the end of Monday, if it hasn't already.

Friends of Blackwater NWR wrote: "Barry, that number is harder to know. They do eagle surveys at the refuge and in Maryland, but I'm not sure if they do osprey surveys. I do know there are approximately 6000 osprey pairs in the Chesapeake Bay region."

Glenn Lawrence just posted this to our wall and I had to republish it here so everyone would be sure to see it. He took it yesterday, and it makes me really homesick for the return of the Osprey Cam feed. This could very well be our Eagle Cam couple perching on the Osprey Cam nest.
