Good Day, Africammers!  Black Eagle Project Roodekrans (BEPR) posted the following on their Facebook page 5 hours ago.. It was prompted by a few viewers who are still learning about this nest and its particular circumstance:

Many of our foreign friends and nest cam observers/viewers do not understand nor appreciate the circumstances that Nessi has to undergo from hatchling to juvenile and fledging stages. Firtsly, the eagles are wild and have been at this nest for at least 78 years - long before human presence! At least 3rd and 4th generation, the eagles hunt all their own prey and no food is provided for them. Currently, development has surpassed the nesting site and apart from the approx. 400 ha extent of the Water Sisulu National Botanical Garden (WSNBG) the eagles have to fly high over developed areas to hunt in smaller pockets of nature areas. The bulk of their habitat is still fairly open but immediate surrounds are clustered with development. It can thus take a day or two for the eagles to hunt successfully as they also have to compete with vagrant people that snare and eat their prey too! Not easy thus but we can assure you that we visit the eagles on a daily basis to ensure nothing or nobody interferes with their safety. The staff at the WSNBG also look out for them. The BEPR is a voluntary project that make use of people that are willing to donate their time, educating the public with awareness programmes. This eagle pair is one of three pairs that nest within a residential and urban environment. If you any more questions, dive us a shout - Bo van der Lecq for and on behalf of the BEPR.

ty, Happy New Year to you too Smiling   No word yet on NK and ID cams and EP has gone down again too now.  NA buffering a lot but somewhat up anyway.  Cams having a hard time with the rains and signal problems it seems.

Good morning to you Howwa, you are usually coming after I have gone.  I hope all is well with you.  It has been a slow morning for the cams but better then it started off with only two cams up.  Still waiting for Nessi to get up the nerve to leave the nest.
