Lynda, it might have been the wind
I don't think so, I'm used to the various loud and sometimes abrupt noises the wind makes by now. It didn't last more than a few seconds and when it started I thought we were about to hear a roar, but it turned into a grumble. Perhaps a wildie complaining that another is leaning in too hard.

I think I just hear a roar.....If those dang crickets would shut up.... Hi Zeke. I, too, have been hearing on and off roars at NK very far off in the distance. Almost inaudible, but distinctly lion. __________________

Yep - That could be why the jackals were carrying on. Would love to see any critter at this point..but a lion would be the icing on the cake..

I never discount anything. A lion could show. They travel fast. Edit: or, should I say 'pride'? __________________

I think I just hear a roar.....If those dang crickets would shut up.... Those crickets need to chew some gum from an acacia tree....that would shut them up for a little bit __________________
