yes a lynx can bring down a caribou calf by itself

looks like a very large house cat
size:
- 90 to 110 cm.(about three feet)
- average weight of male about 11 kg (24 pounds)
color:

we have weighed some at   20 kilograms

so it depends on the are they are found

This has resulted in the need to close this area to all hunting efforts, ... in some cases, lynx as the key predators of caribou calves.

Interesting to hear. Which lynxes are these? Are they maybe bigger in posture? Can one single lynx take down a caribou calve?

Barry, here are videos of the Iberian lynx. click here

It's in a centre, where they breed them to try and get the numbers up. They mostly died out when the rabbits died of myxomatose, it was there main source of food.
