The version I watched was japanese. You don't need to understand the words to understand the story. I couldn't watch the ending 
it was called mother lion against elephant

The ranger said that the cub was injured and couldnt walk, so instead of letting her baby suffer she killed it. There is a part when she closes her eyes almost like it is hard for her. Sad but also amazing. Animals are underestimated when it comes to emotions and thought.

I see you're all discussing the YouTube video I asked the Nkorho Ranger about. I'd only seen it the day before and was completely bewildered as to the mother lionesse's behavior. The answer I got, as even repeated here, makes sense to me....mother love thing, I suppose.

I was intrigued by your question when I saw it and even more so by the answer. I went on a youtube mission to find this video that you were discussing. When I found it and already knew the outcome I decided I didn't want to see the end. The lioness, with her eyes closed, brought tears to my eyes.

Oh no! I understand. I only watched the whole thing because I didn't believe the subject line....couldn't believe it. When I saw it, I was so shocked I had to ask. I love lions, they're absolutely amongst my favorites, but I was thrown by what the video revealed. So sad.
