Thanks for the notice Sonygrl.  I believe we saw the star, Regulus setting on the right side of the marula tree ahead of the moon.   Saturn is so tight against the moon on the right side of it, I could not resolve Saturn.

Regulus is a bright star, amazing how bright it appeared here so close to the moon!

Ceri,  Betelgeuse is a star.   Would you post with the waiver,  "believed to be Betelgeuse"    There is always a degree of uncertainty with these sightings.   As tonight, the bright object preceding the setting of the moon according to the chart should have been Regulus.  Saturn was assumed to be washed out by the moon.  We can confirm this by the next few nights if it is clear.  The moon will be out of the way.
