Hi All,

for some reason many people I know are not able to get to www.wavelit.com  anymore. Is there a problem with the site or perhaps the camera stream has been rehosted elsewhere?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Well someone must have found the info useful as for the first time in weeks I have been able to get to the wavelit website and start the live stream. There is no video as it looks as though the camera is down at the moment but the actual stream mechanism works which is fantastic for us who have been unable to view it for a long time.

Cheers

I couldn't get on to cam here this morning.  I could get on cam through wavelit though.  I've never had this problem before.  Coincidence?

They are currently working on the infra-red lights at nkorho and switched of the cam. It should be working again in a little while. Glad  you are able to connect again Smiling

Thanks Gerda,

I believe the people and myself who can no longer get to wavelit is due to that site Bogon Filtering which is blocking our IP address range. Our ISP is now using IP address ranges that were once on the reserved list but are now available. Below is a write up about it:

WHAT ARE BOGON FILTERS?

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) maintains a list of IP
network numbers which are in use on the Internet.

Many sites on the Internet block IP addresses which are marked as
"RESERVED" on that list. The process of blocking those addresses is known
as "Bogon Filtering".

Bogon Filters are only supposed to be used if they are kept up-to-date,
because IANA's list changes.

WHY ARE BOGON FILTERS SUDDENLY A PROBLEM IN AUSTRALIA?

In April 2004, IANA redesignated 58/8 and 59/8 from "RESERVED" to
"Available for assignment by APNIC".

In November 2004, APNIC provided Internode with 59.167.0.0/17.

As of April 2005 (i.e., 12 months after IANA released 59/8 for use on the
Internet) we are finding many sites which haven't bothered to update their
bogon filters. These sites are (incorrectly) blocking our customers.

HOW CAN WE FIX THIS?

We can't. It isn't our bug. The bug is caused by the web site operators
with the obsolete bogon filters.

I just tried and I can connect to wavelit.com without a problem. Also the cam opens directly.
