I don't know if this could be the problem but I used to play in a game site that the "lobby" chat text box was at the bottom like that.. and those with lower resulution settings on their monitor could not see the chat box.  Do you know what your monitor resolution setting is?  I don't remember the sizes right off but it was those with setting in the 800x 700 or something like that vs those with 1200x1000 as samples.  If yours is in the lower number range try to increase it which will make things look smaller on screen but gives more room in the window for items like chat rooms.  If you don't know how to change or check your monitor resolution size let me know.

Below the list of users, there is nothing for me, and above that are everyone else's messages. That's all that's there. I don't understand why that'd happen - I don't have any programs blocking certain sites or anything like that...

hi tsss27, I don't know anything about irc stuff either, but that link did work for me.  the chat box where you type your text is just under where you see "audience" Its a white rectangle area you can type in.  You can submit your text by clicking the send button below and to the right of it or presssing enter key.  If you are able to see others chat in the room I don't know why you wouldn't be able to send your text unless there is some sort of firewall or security program that would be blocking that??  Sorry I can't help more as it is an area I have very limited knowledge about.

Once again it shows the messages but that's all, nowhere to type. However, judging from the last URL, this is an IRC channel - if this is true, couldn't I just use some other IRC client to chat there?

That is the same link as you gave a while ago, and I still get only the spinning wheel in the chat area on that link but as I said the chat window works when I use the link on the left by clicking the word chat under the NK link.  I have no idea why it would work ok on the africam page and not the ustream page as I thought they were the same chat room and program.

I checked the link again and that's the one I have saved.
