Current Cam Status

Refresh cams are back up except for flamingo cam.  Flamingo Island cams down for repairs.  est. fix not known.

Refresh cams don't seem to be refreshing but stuck on old pictures. 

NK and EP cam just went down for me.

eta:  sometime before 11:20 am EP was back up.

Refresh cams down as well as the streaming flamingo cam.  It has been reported.

Due to major storms in the past 24h, there is major damage to communications and other equipment.

NK cam still down due to problems with a PSU at NK but hope to be fixed within 24 hrs.  Most refresh cams and the other streaming cams are back online as noted.

Good day all.

Some of you are maybe wondering what is going on at NK: You all know about the storm we had. It rained 95mm that night. It was the most rain we had in one day in the last 3/4 years. The lighting struck our tower so that meant no internet, no phone lines ,nothing besides cellphone. Telkom came out today to fix the internet and I was busy with the cam. The cam had been struck as well. I had to check everything to narrow the problems down. 1st problem was the control unit in the bar, 2nd the cam itself ,3rd was the vga card.

There is some more problems I haven't found yet. I have replaced everything so far that was broken but still I have no picture in the bar. I have to run some more tests and get back to Campbell. He will be sending me what I need tomorrow with Dirk.

I will keep you all up to date since the internet is working again.

About a month ago, I got a new computer with the Vista operating system.  Since then, I can only get NK and EP and Flamingo Island streaming cams in the pop-up player.  They won't play in the spot in the regular page.   Does anyone else have this problem?

EP cam seems to have gone down for us.  It has been reported.

both nk and ep streaming cam pages are not loading at all.

EP streaming cam went down about midnight CAT.  It has been reported.

eta:  refresh cams back up as noted above.

I have no problem watching NK, it's a pleasure as always!

Is there a slight cam fault though as it looks like the horizontal /vertical hold might need a tweak? There are bars in the middle of the picture which make it look as though the picture is about to break up, though it doesn't actually do that.

Hello wolseleyplumb.

Last week NK was hit by a violent rain storm and the camera equipment suffered some damage.  Hopefully all will be back to normal soon.  

Thank you Sabine, I was worried it was at my end.

Pity that the Flash carrier shows up these problems more than WMP.

flamingo cam and refresh cams are still down.  its been reported.

I was informed that the flamingo cams rely on solar power and with the overcast skys recently it isn't enough for the cams to work all the time.  So it will be up and down due to lack of power at times.

EP cam is also down and has been reported.
