Hi everyone last year I was very fortunate to be able to go to south africa twice, I went to a small reserve called Mankwe in the north, it was a very student friendly place and had no big cats just White Rhinos and everything else you would expect, but because it was student friendly they could not have any dangerous animals, luckily I was staying next to pilansberg and that had the big 5, I shall post some pictures and stories and i hope you enjoy and read. Here is a little taster to start.

The first time I went was with Plumpton college as part of my course, and this was the first animal I saw, now as some of you may know some reserves use hunting as a technique to bring in money, now although Mankwe was very student orientated they used hunting the excess males as side part, and as a result the animals were scared of vehciles and ran away, this is why this herd is off, this was taken on the way to the camp I stayed in which was right in the middle of the reserve

This is a Blesbok, might be new to a few people, but in a reserve you cannot have Blesbok and Bontebok together because they will breed across the species and this is I think Illegal in south africa maybe one of my south african friends can tell me
