Dear Members

There has been some confusion around the donation drive for Josh’s Laptop and we would like to resolve any misunderstandings.  First of all Africam had no knowledge of this donation drive, however we did agree once it came to our attention on the basis that KITN (Kids in the Nest) would manage the process which clearly has not happened. A second complication is that Josh is not a permanent staff member but rather a volunteer and it was KITN intention to secure funding for him which also will not be happening.

After reviewing the situation we do believe that KITN’s actions where well intended but perhaps a bit over zealous, but never the less supported by a large number of members who quickly showed their support. As a result we are happy to endorse this project and move ahead with purchasing a laptop, wireless LAN equipment in order to equip Josh/ Nkorho with an access point on the internet to keep the members up to date on the going on’s at the Waterhole. We have also got the full support of Nkorho for this initiative.

To date we have received US$ 3052.00. We would suggest that the cost of the laptop and wireless equipment be deducted then the balance of the money be used to provide Josh with some monthly income of which Africam and Nkorho will also contribute.  We will endeavour to keep a record of these expenses and publish these accounts as and when needed.

We have also received a number of other suggestions regarding donations and we would be happy to address and or support these initiatives if the community are behind it. In future all donation projects will have to have the stamp of approval from Africam to avoid similar situations.  Please address all concerns about donations to donations_at_africam.com

The following list is donations from people that Africam has received if your name does not appear on this list please email us:

The list has been removed by request please email (as above) to confirm your donation has been recieved.
