Donations to buy Josh a Lap Top

 All donations to buy Josh a lap Top Computer will now allow us to talk to Josh all during the day. He will be accessible from NK & EP. In addition to this he will keep us posted while out on drives and while he is with other Rangers in and a round the area.

Any sighting while out on drives you will now hear about it, WHILE it is happening.

Up-Date:

Josh's lap Top. Today I started a donation drive so we could get Josh a lap Top so we can start getting these reports RIGHT from Josh and not through me. The lap top will also allow Josh to take it out on Game Drives and report to us directly from the bush.

Well guys you are AMAZING.

GiGisMom, Bob Fin, JuJu, WildCall, Lea, ALF, Lady in Michigan, CallieG, dolly7530, CarolynR,  have got us 1/2 way there. The kids at school have raised $312.06  to this cause and we are just about there.

page is a donation button.

 It's that simple.

Thanks to you guys and my students we are about to get ourselves a Game Drive....and full time reporting Ranger...LIVE.

Josh will be able to talk to you on that computer just as you and I talk in here. NO more of this waiting for answers.

Bob Fin had a great suggestion, if we go over our donation mark, we can get Josh a digital camera of which he can take live vid out in the bush. He does use a video camera, but the digital would be instant when he hooks it to the lap top. NO donation is to small.

There is no memo section, when donating via PPal, to designate 'Josh'. Just fyi since I would like to contribute.

Just a personal opinion but...maybe instead of buying a video camera with leftover funds, I would suggest buying a better laptop. Just a thought.

If this is in the wrong place feel free to move. Just wanted to make sure you knew donation was coming but wouldn't designate Josh

All those that have donated to get Josh a Lap Top have as far as I know, contacted me through my PM's. I spoke to Campbell & Josh earlier today and he sees them coming in. He is matching the names of the people on this thread to THOSE donations and ALL of it goes to that Lap Top so Josh can finally talk to us instantly.

If there is any funds left over, we are going to try and also get Josh a digital camera so he can send to us, pictures of what it is he is seeing  AS he is seeing it.

As you can see, those that have donated, I am making sure their names are posted here and get FULL credit for this amazingly kind gesture. FINALLY we will be able to talk to not just Josh, but other Rangers right from EP & NK.

Do you mean Campbell is matching each donation with one of his own?   

Nooo marblehead that is not what she means, she means that Campbell matches the names to the amounts that is donated so we make sure that this part is going solely to Josh's laptop and not to Africam in general!

Will do my best. Campbell has to match ( match the names from the list ABOVE ) what is coming in from his end, many mailed me checks here, so un-till we get more in, can't tell the exact amount yet. From yesterday we were 1/2 way there. IF we have a short fall, the students said they would go to more classrooms and start a drive there. They are prepared to collect  more pop tins, cardboard for recycling, whatever it takes to make this happen.

We also want to get Josh on web cam. Those that know how to use that to talk to others using those, well Josh is prepared to do the same.

I have a web cam and I never pass up an oppurtunity to talk to somebody THAT cute on cam!!!!! LOL. Sorry this is just an old bat's humor!

An other question: I don't have a Paypal account. However, I would love to make a donation. Is it possible to send a check to Africam that will be earmarked for Ranger Josh's computer? Are others doing this? Or, is everyone else paying through PayPal?

Note: Josh just posted in Q & A. As soon as Josh gets this computer, you will ALL be hearing this instantly. NOT waiting for Josh to get his hands on a computer that is in use.

I am so grateful for the Lodge to even have allowed Josh to use their computer, but time has come to change that.

If you go to the "donations" button on the home page it gives you several possibilities to pay, not using pay pal, there are two Bankacoount numbers there, one in Atlanta! Hope this helps.

I dont have paypal either, but donated through it anyhow. You dont need an account to do it just so you know!

Any member making a donation for Josh's computer, if you pm me with the amount and your name, that is the only way I can keep tabs on the amounts to keep a total.

There is an address on the donation button of how to wire money to Africam.com's bank. And yes your right, not everyone users Pay Pal. Some have mailed checks to Kids in The Nest, here in Canada. That has been noted and will ALSO be used solely for this donation drive.
