Good day Louis

If you have a look in Nkorho Q and A on page 15 at the bottem there is a question for you.

Welcome and good luck.

Welcome Louis, we are so glad to meet you too.

Just a little bit of advice to both of you. It is best to tell the date and time than page numbers. Some persons have 10 posts per page, others have 30 posts per page. Some have newest first, others have it the other way around. Searching for a page can be difficult sometimes.  Smiling

hello to  - RANGER -  i dont know if you can answer this question --

every night  i watch the nkorho  zoomi  operator  as he  or she  pans the cam  all around the nkorho  area  including the lodge

and i enjoy the trip each night  -never get bored with it

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

but at  elephant  plains  the zoomi  does the same  several times each night    but -when   the cam comes to where we could see the lodge  ( the cam is allways   suddenly tipped  down  so we cant

see the lodge ( can you tell me  why  they wont show the lodge ??

i have snapped a few pics of it  but it would be  nice for those of us

that watch the cams to see the lodge each  night(  night here in b.c.) days time in africa -   like we do at  nkorho

thanks and if you cant answer  the  ??  dont loose sleep over it

It is not that we do not want to show the logde, we'd just like to give our guests privacy as there are outdoor showers outside each room.

Hi to all at EP

Is Wayne still the head ranger? I can confirm the outside showers they are directly in line with the camera. Are the five lion males (brothers) still as active, this is terry from the uk if you could pass my regards onto Wayne, his wife(whose name escapes me for the moment) Ettiene  and family and all the staff there it is a wonderful place I have been there every year since 1996 but this year cannot get in unfortunatly.

Will be in South africa for 1month commencing 3rd Sept 2008. Wonderful

If this is a repeated question, I apologize!  But, I have often wondered if the camera operators have the sounds that we are hearing at the same time?  Sometimes I feel like I am hearing things just off camera and expect the camera to focus in on whatever is making the sound but they often don't.  So, maybe the zoomies just have sight, not sound?  That is by no means a criticism!  Just curiosity.  The operators are fabulous!  Thanks so much!

Hello EP rangers !

I was wondering about a baboon that has been seen a few times on the cam. He was badly injured at his jaw but he seemed to be able to drink.

Do you happen to know if he is still around ? I think the last time we saw him on cam was end of may somewhere.

thanks Smiling

Hi Congokid

The camera opperators do have sound aswell as a view of the open area so a lot of times the sound is out of sight of the camera itself so they dont move it also unfortunately we are sometimes not always at the cam so sometimes we miss the sound but thanks so much for the suggestion.

Hi Gerda

thanks so much for the comment to answer your question he was quite possibly injured in a fight with another male baboon or by some mirracle got away from one our leopards. we suspect that due to his injuries he slowly passed away due to the lack of not being able to eat properly.

Hi Louis,
It was a fantastic sighting a short while back for us to see Tyson and Salayexe on the cam and then the total surprise of them stopping to mate in cam view. WOW!
Does it seem that they have been successful yet in Salayexe becoming pregnant? From following EP Reports this has been going on for a very long time now. They seem to have become companions being seen together quite often. Smiling

Could you share with me also what has happened with Saseka? Has she just moved off on to another property and do you know if her newest cub is still alive?

Thanks so much for the great shots you share with us at EP!

 HELLO RANGERS -

at  nkorho  we had a cape buffalo die - and the skull

was put out for us to see each day-  and it is most interesting to

see the interaction of the different animals and the  skull

( could the same be  done at  ELEPHANT PLAIN,S) ??

also we asked the rangers if a  dead tree could be put in

in the pan-  they said  yes- and we have now had  kingfisher and fish eagle  perch on it   ( could a dead tree be put in \

elephant plain  pan also ??

thank you ---barry

just one of many pics we have captured of

animals and the  -skull-

and now with addition of the tree in water birds perching

I see Barry's Perch log has been installed this morning. Lots of small birds using it already ( could not see wat kind ) . They circled and claimed it and was using it as they darted out over the water for insects ?  The Buffalo was not too impressed , he tok one sniff and bolted LOL. Now, what fun will it be when the baby Baboons begin to play king of the log ! LOL   Thanks for going the extra mile guys !

Hi barry

Unfortunately we can not put skulls of die animals at the waterhole, simply because the cape buffalo at nkorho was killed near the waterhole there, therefore it is natural and our skull would simply be unnatural. I hope you understand.
