But I see flying lights all the time, I was wondering what kind of insects that are..

Hi Nan The 'flying lights' that you see at night at the waterholes are most likely to be moths attracted to the waterhole lighting, although they could also be beetles or bats, or even nocturnal birds - but it is usually impossible to positively ID them, as they mostly only appear as a streak of light. __________________

Hi and welcome to the forum and africam. I don't know the answer to your question but you might want to join us in the daily created watering hole chat thread where we talk about what we are seeing and hearing at the waterholes. You can ask there and maybe someone will know what type of flying insects and small birds that we see as light streaks when watching the cam at night. click here for the current chat thread for today (20 Jan) __________________

When i watched it first times i was thinking.. Wauw loads of falling stars
later i learned that its not falling stars , so a lot of wishes i made while watching were not forfilled
As far as i know now its fireflies and other insects that you see swarming around the webcam.
Take care
