First, a hearty thank you for getting rid of the headers in our posts! I am so glad to see that feature bite the dust. I've already thanked you for the time changes from 24hr to am/pm, and for reducing the size of the font in the member list area.
Now onto the Ewwwwww part of this post...
The speed with this new forum is really slow by any stretch of the imagination. By the time you do a refresh and wait and wait for the page to reload, get bumped up to the top of the screen if you don't have a post yourself on that page, or get bumped to your last post if you do, then scroll back down the page to the bottom to see if anyone else has commented on what you are going to post on, then click on reply and wait and wait, type in your 5 letters (ie:RHINO) highlight the letters, pick your font from the list, pick the size from the list, try to find the right smiley for the occasion, then hit submit and wait and wait for the page to load up... the Rhinos and every other animal within 10 city blocks are gone!
Before you say it... I know that there are lots and lots of visitors and members on the site, but I find it hard to believe they weren't on the other site also. I don't think that they just showed up to bog things down. I am afraid that this new forum is too graphic intensive for us to handle. Too much flash on each and every page needing all the resources it can get to make this a feasible forum for live viewing and commenting.
I am very grateful for AfriCam, the live feed, but with things the way they are on the forum, it makes reading and communicating about the stream tedious at best, and really not worth the effort. I am trying to give it all the time that is needed and will continue to try, but the time may come in the near future that it's just not worth it to log onto the Boma and discuss the cam any longer. I hope things improve before it comes to that.
