Hello all!

I'm new here, but have been watching the Africam on wavelit..  A little before they shut down I've been an avid viewer here at the Africam site.  It wasn't until the other day that I realized I wasn't a member here and decided to register.

Okay - a little about myself...  My name is Deanna and right now I'm temporarily living in Maryland, USA but I'll be back in Florida were I grew up come July.  Maryland was just a temporary stay (for two years) while my boyfriend finished college.   I have a B.A. in African history (concentration on Western Africa and African American history) and it is one of my passions.  Another passion would be my pets -  I have a tabby cat named Keeba, a peninsula cooter (turtle) named Jyra, and a cockatiel named Chief.  I love all animals and get so excited seeing all the action on the Africam - my favorites are the hyenas, their sounds are astonishing and so captivating.

I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone that brought the Africam together and who are maintaining to keep it as great as it is!  It truly is a wonderful project that has inspired so many lives across the world.  It's an honor to be a part of this with all of you.

Welcome to Africam.  I'd love to hear more about all you've learned.  And I know MJ would like to hear more also.  My other two that are still at home ,Jai and Kinzi, get their information second hand.  But I'm homeschooling MJ right now so any time you see him on please fill free to fill his little 11 year old head.
