sorry I don't know all the details about that but that they did need to get all sorts of approvals to do what they did go to get the streaming cam and lights and audio all set up there so imagine they did the best that they could do under the circumstances.

hi Brian, I don't know that some of the sounds you hear are not due to settings but the mic is located in the "pit" that is covered by a metal lid which is why I think much of the echo/reverberation effect I think you are talking about is heard there.

Ok, that explains it, thank you for taking time to explain. Seems a strange way of setting up a mike, wouldn't a tree have been a better idea or were there problems with that?

Just wondering, is the software that the mike runs through at Tembe functioning correctly? Some audio software creates sound effects and I wondered if it is this that is making the sound at Tembe sound like it's in an echoing bathroom or soil pipe? I had a similar problem with the sounds on my computer a few years ago and by adjusting the graphic equaliser settings I found it had been set as 'bathroom'. Is it worth asking the staff at TE if this is the case there?

This is such an interesting site, it may be working a bit slow. But i am new to the community and can't wait to explore the site more.

I look forward to having a look round the site more.

as mentioned in the boma chit chat thread there have been several problems and also storm related outages.  New cam at EP is up now but still have some audio problems and some other technical issues.  TE had a power outage for a while last night also that knocked that cam offline but all three streaming cams are now up and running anyway.
