Hi,

I received an email with your link about 1 month ago.  Since that time, I have been logged on to your website for 12-16 hours per day, most everyday.  I leave the sound up and go about my day.  Active (well, attentive may be a better word!) viewing would be perhaps 1-2 hours per day.  My viewing time zones change as I work half time on the east coast of the US and half time in the highlands of Guatemala, but my computer is on Africam from roughly 7:00 AM till 11:00 PM.

You have added immeasurably to my life.  A million thanks and kudos for your wonderful work.

When I'm home the cam is on all the time, from the time I wake up untill I go to bed... not only the streaming cam, also tau and black eagle is on here lots of times.
At the hotel where I work, the cam is on 8-10 hours/day...
Regular guests at the hotel know who's working just by looking to the pc at the reception desk.... "Oooh the cam is on, Gerda is working today "

If I am  awake & I am at home, then you are probably on.   I do other things around the house, but every time I pass the pc, I check - and the volume is always up so I that I won't miss any visitors.  I now know the sound of a rhinoceros footstep vs an ele arrivng.....and I recognize the sound of eles frolicking in the wading pond.    I can tell when the hyena comes for a drink.....got the cadence of lap lap lap swallow firmly in my brain.....plus a wealth of other wonderful things.    I love the information exchanges and the welcoming people.  I am on the wrong side of North America so I miss all the daylight activity, because I gotta sleep sometime, otherwise, you could put me down in the "watches 24 hr./day" column.

Thanks for this amazing opportunity.

I watch the cam and participate in the forums everyday and have since my son sent me the link in Sept 2006.  I love hearing the sounds, particularly the birds and insects in the winter months when it is so silent outside in Canada.  Since I work full time and have to sleep sometimes, I probably average about 8-12 hours viewing per day, sometimes more sometimes less.  I work different shifts as a counsellor at a shelter for abused women so watch at all times of the day and night.  I have learned so much and enjoy the interaction with others on the forums....one day I hope to visit SA.  Thank you very much for the daily pleasure.

A friend told me about the Africam and I signed on in December 2006, just in time to see the lion visit on Christmas Eve.  You can imagine how thrilled I was that first day.  Africam is on  all day at the office (with the sound off) and 24/7 at home.  I am definitely an addict and so so so grateful for this site.

have been watching since last oct., i log on when i get up in the morning and it is on till i go to bed.  like others have said, i don't always sit in front of the monitor but i turn volumne up and come running if something is going on. i also hae my grnadson watch for me and he comes to get me if something is on. he enjoys it a lot too. he is learning a lot from it, he can identify most of the animals. which i am sure if they study africa in school he will be far ahead of the other kids. any improvements will be appreicated, just please don't take it off!!

I too am an addict.  Africam comes on before email or pogo.  Oh, and before bill paying.  It's always up in the corner and the sound is up.  I am a disabled single parent and have 3 more adopted kids still in grade school.  I watch/listen all day between laundry, homework, etc.  I watch in my morning/CAT night with breakfast to catch up on photos and chat.  And I'm on in reverse when the kids get to bed.  Since I have insomnia, I'm sometimes on until 2 or 3 am MST. The kids check out interesting photos and sounds after homework.  When they have reports do and they pick the subject, it's always about something they can research on Africam.com.  They can also get some idea of how their ancestors lived.

It's always been my #1 dream to visit Africa and get a photo of "the tree" and me.  I'll never be able to afford that trip, so I go virtually with Africam.  And thank you MacMac for all the answers to our questions.  It helps make it even more real.  When my body gets overtired or my brain overworked, I take a mini vacation to Africa.  I agree that it's soothing to listen to the birds.  (NOT the frogs or animals screeching warnings!) That's another thing the kids are learning.  Not only the food chain, but which animals share the wh and which take over.  How some circle the wagons around the wh clockwise and then drink.  When they're through, how they turn their back to the wh. The zebra lineup in the proper places.  And watching the babies grow.  If they would all just become vegetarians I would be MUCH happier!

Thank you so very much for a wonderful sight that is part of our lives 24/7!

I have sons officially adopted that are just turned 36 and 34, and an officially adopted daughter,31. My birth daughter who will be 31 tomorrow.   I have an unofficially adopted Mexican daughter, 30, that came into my life in her early 20's. Then three more officially adopted children, sons 12 and 10 1/2 (can't forget that) and a daughter 9.  Here is a picture of my Mexican daughter and I.

[Edit: I know..you should have seen the size of the photo before I got it this small. Feel free to make it smaller if you know how! :)]

I turn it on first thing in the morning and have it on until I go to bed at night or sometimes into the next morning. I really miss it when it is down. Thank you so much for letting us have this to watch.

I turn on Nkorho first thing in the morning 6am and do split screen with Pete's Pond and watch it all day. Everyday.
