Ingwe, can I tell you again (without making you sick and tired of hearing it from me) that I'm so agog over your photos that I could just cry! They're THAT delightful and mesmerizing. Oh, how I wish I could go there and see that. I've actually been to the travel site to price but don't know much about currency conversion or how long you're allowed to stay or any of that stuff.

Thank you so so much again for sharing these photos.

Christy, How cool to see the resident yappers! I've often wondered what they looked like. The leopard and the lions in their NATURAL home is beyond words. The quality of your pictures and story telling is beautiful.  My oh my.

After that lovely braai I slept like a baby Smiling 5:30am came around very quickly and we were off again.

We checked on the Kruger boys. The buffalo wasn't looking so good, and he reeked! But the boys were hanging on....

We thought they were beauties and probably brothers. They both had the same two toned manes.

Leopard magnet Penny still had the magic touchLaughing

Mafufunyane

He was completely relaxed, had a fully belly and was wandering around scent marking, and occasionally flopping down for a rest.

This pic taken by Penny2 as he walked past...

I was completely overwhelmed to finally meet this leopard, you have no idea.. sheer joy Laughing

I had no idea what was going to happen on the evening drive...

Karen and Shirley - thanks again for the very kind comments Smiling

Penny!

On Saturday night at Nk there is a bushbraai, which is a barbecue out in the bush. We drove past the boma in the daylight , but, you're really going to have to use your imagination because it doesn't look anything like this at night time. (And, I don't have a pic)

It is lit up with torches, table lanterns, and a fire in the middle, ... and I found a pic

It was very cool, the food was delicious (banoffee pie for dessert) and when the spotlights were shone we could see the jackals and hyaena waiting outside. One of our rangers who shall remain nameless crept up on an unsuspecting guest and yelled "boo"

I did a bit of creeping on my own during the morning, and took a few pics around the camp.

This is the bougainvillea we can see from the cam. To the left is the boma at camp where dinner is served.

... entrance to the boma....

I was the lucky person sitting next to Ingwe in the landie (along with her hubby on the other side of her) and her postings and narrative on our time at NK are wonderful and bringing so much of our recent holiday back to us.   She's great fun to be with and, as she said in an earlier posting, Africam has sparked a lasting friendship.  With our shared love of the bush we never ran out of conversation - thank heavens our hubbys got on as well! Even though I was there at most of the sightings, I am looking forward to the next posting as much as everyone else! Thank you, also, Christy, for all your help re my lack of computer skills.

On the way back we took another dirt road that had a pile of rubble in the middle of the road that grew bigger and bigger... Surprised Embarassed

I don't think we saw that Shocked We definitely took a different route back, we skipped a lot of villages and made it back to the wildlife college much quicker.
