insanebushie's Q & A

This is Insanebushie's Q&A thread

All questions are welcome as long as they are not related directly to the lodges themselves. They may, however, refer to the area for practical regions eg Kwazulu Natal for Tembe and The Sabi Sands for NK and EP.

This is mostly for those of you who would like to know more about the critters, be they big or small, which you have all been watching on the cameras.

You are welcome to ask ANYTHING about ANYTHING.

Dear Moffer

Your first question the white line along the breast would certainly indicate a painted snipe, the picture is not clear enough to see the white eye colour.

The second question, all four of those pictures are Black-headed Heron if you look at picture number two you will see the black line behind the neck the legs of the black-headed Heron are also dark grey where as you Grey Heron has light yellow legs and only the head crown has black markings.

Hope this helps have a nice day

Hi Moffer I have to say that this is a tawny eagle adult in the top picture, anyone else got any ideas I had originally thought perhaps a Wahlbergs but the cere is not right for it and the yellow colour extends to far back..... Bushie
