notice thier bills are crossed    thier are  left and right billed   crossbills

Barry, such great shots of the ravens, keep them coming. We don't see ravens in BE, so your backyard birds are scarce here. I have seen them in the Alps.

Gerda great shots of the Great Crested Grebe, they are such lovely birds. You should try and get their mating dance next year.

Barry, we do get coot here, many, many of them Smiling

And just as many moorhen, are they just as abundant for you?

       very nice  action shots  of the grebe with the chick

        we have what they call a coot  here it looks like your moorehen

       but not as brightly colored
