Hello guys...
the other day i was on the bus and i heard a women say what is the point of a wasp... It got me intrigued and now i want to put the discussion to all you africammers. What is the point of the wasp. Do they kill other pests. Do they help Pollinate. Or are they just a strange pointless animal.

I Think every animal has its own particulair place in the chain of food and Life.

Often seen is if a certain species has gone that it makes a major change in the chain of life.

Unfortunatly its the human species that is the only species that is known that  is polluting and making a mess of it's own house (Planet Earth).

A wasp is a predatory flying stinging insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor an ant. A narrower and simpler but popular definition of the term wasp is any member of the aculeate family Vespidae. Wasps are critically important in natural biocontrol as almost every pest insect species has at least one wasp species that is a predator upon it. Parasitic wasps are increasingly used in agricultural pest control as they have little impact on crops.

Well I'm certainly not an authority on the issue, but I think they primarily pollinate.  I haven't heard of them killing other pests, but I could be wrong.
