fpb_raw Lions Photo Gallery: 14 Awesome Pics From Nkorho

The lion kill that took place in front of our camera at Nkorho in December was one of the most exciting sightings we have ever had.

The following photographs that chronicle the event were captured by lodge manager Karin van der Merwe. This week is all about celebrating nature, conservation and of course lions, and these photos truly depict the spirit of "Lion Kill Week". We hope you enjoy them.

Awesome photography.  Watching live was such an education on how the food chain works in Africa.  It was interesting watching the order in which the other animals came for their fill.  I am glad that I was one of many who watched and learned.  This I will never forget.  Thank you for having the webcams for us to view the animals in safety.

We love the pictures you've published Karen. They go a long way to excusing the tour buses that were the only blight for the humble Africammers glued to the events of this Kill.

The photos are beautifully composed - although  it would be difficult to take a bad picture of those fabulous creatures. We loved the cubs particularly: strange when we consider how we always want to see the big cats chase and kill: when it comes to it, it is the innocent playfulness of the cubs which is so memorable.

Thanks for a charming momento.

Gillian the blight of bus tours are paying guests at the lodges, if not for them and the lodges we would not be getting to see all these wonderful shots. They do take priority of us the viewers.
