![]() Media inactiveSubmitted by Africam on Mon, 05/02/2007 - 12:19am. Streaming Video Player & Camera issuesIf your media player is not working and your media player displays "media inactive" This could be related to a number of problems, your internet line, cache memory, compatibility issues..... Often viewers have problems related to their cache memory, so try clearing your cache memory and rebooting your system. Also please be aware that the stream is a broadband stream and you will require at least a 384 kb connection, a dial up will not work properly. If this does not solve your problem then please send us a mail on info[at]africam.com. We will need to know what system you are using your version of media player and what internet browser you are using. Regards The Africam Team Africam Admin Wed, 14/02/2007 - 12:21pm
It's not working on the home page...which ought to say something. It''s also not working on windows media player. I don't think it's us viewers. I think it's the cam. I'm not adjusting my computer right now, i think it's risky. Let's all be patient! Plenty to listen to. My Player worked almost all day til night fell. ps...It's also not working on my friend's Mac. I hope I have this posted in the correct place! ![]() Wed, 07/03/2007 - 10:35pm
If i may add, please ? to add to what Admin and the team stated above.. you should also have at least 512megs of RAM/memory for best video performance. and a fast procesor in your PC also ,for maximum performance of video. this is one instance where that the old saying, "Less is More" just won't cut it. ____________________________E. Is anyone else having problems getting the streaming video? WMP still shows "the pirate", Africam.com's Nkorho stream only shows "$‚}ÞÃÂ"¯ú?g$× ÿÿ
k¶â€Â" and now wavelit's Africam is black We are all in this together-) Tue, 13/03/2007 - 4:22am
I am again having problems with the "regular" camera site.....with it hanging up and buffering like I did a week or so back. At that time, I went to that Media Player link that was provided here. It was working fine. I had to be out of town for about 5 days and now I come back to the regular camera link not working (as I just stated) and the Media Player link is displaying some message about a pirated video. I have told many others how great Africam is and now they think I've played a trick on them as none of us can see anything now. My hubby is a comptuer tech and my computer is well-suited to seeing all of this and we have high-speed internet connection. HELP.....someone...anyone. How can this problem be corrected??? I, too, am addicted to Africam but am upset at not being able to see anything on it now. Am I the only one experiencing this now????? And does anyone know if it will be better soon??? I am also unable to view the africam video. I have tried both ways through wavelit and through my WMP. My system is more than adequate and I have high speed broadband service. This is frustrating as I have spent considerable time trying to troubleshoot it on my end. Now that I read the postings here, I know it is not my computer. I hope it gets resolved soon. Exactly my sentiments. We were away for 8 days and when we returned everything had gone to heck in a hand basket. I have been able to view this site since mid-December 2006. I didn't change anything on my computer, so the problem must be elsewhere. Compaq PC Thanks Kay ![]() Tue, 13/03/2007 - 9:21am
Everyone is having problems. Alot of new people have learned about this site over the last week or two. Its all they are talking about on the QVC community forums. Kids at schools have started watching, teachers at my daughter's love the africam. The server cannot handle this type of volume. I have noticed it does it mostly during the morning hours, when most people are on-line trying to watch. The server needs to do whatever they have to do, to handle all the people that are interested. Or find a new server. ____________________________Found 3 leopards, looking for #4!!! Thu, 15/03/2007 - 10:02am
I just found this site a few days ago and it was working great. My daughters school is twinning with a community in Africa and she's loved watching but the past 2 days all I get it a black screen it reads ready at the bottom after going through the loading process and then nothing. I don't know how to fix this. I use Firefox but it won't work on IE either. ____________________________Ellie (that's really my name - I'm not an elephant) ![]() Thu, 12/04/2007 - 9:12am
