If you could meet Campbell on here, as well as many of the people he works with, what would you like to ask him.? If you would list some questions you would like to ask, we will see what we can do to make this happen.... I want to know more about the Lions and where do they go when they leave the Waterhole. What do you want to know? Have FUN, and fire away.

we are compiling a list of questions from as many of you as possible. When were done, were arranging for Campbell and his crew to come on here LIVE and answer you. So list as many questions as any of you want. We will announce the date of this when we see enough of you want to do this. Campbell won't be answering the question in here, the thread I mean. We want to do this LIVE off the cam. and from the BUSH. __________________

Ms Charlie, Could you explain this a little more in detail please. Will Campbell "and his crew" be answering these questions via a mic from Nkorho Lodge over the microphone we have at the Waterhole now or even possibly from the Game Drive vehicle that most of us have been long waiting to happen? And..... please do share with us "who" Campbell's Crew is. Thanks bunches and I look forward to the live interaction. __________________

This is Great! I have a question about the coalition of male lions that went thru Nkorho on Oct. 26th. We clearly saw 4 but it looked like another Landi had their spotlight on one or two others. How many were actually seen? If they were the Mapogo coalition, there were originally 6 of them. 5 related and 1 older unrelated male. Recently, rumor has it that one had been killed by a croc and that was prior to the sighting at Nkorho. Hoping all six are still alive and well. If you have any info on one being killed recently, do you know if it was one of the related ones or the older unrelated and where it took place? Thank you! __________________

No we will take all the questions from here, Campbell will check them over, and answer them LIVE off the cam. He will be able to see you ask more questions if he's at the Lodge. He also has a lap top with him so it's quite possible he can read new questions and answer out in the bush. Were hoping to meet Mac-Mac and others from the Lodge. The main one OBVIOUSLY will be Campbell. This is going to be a test and see how it goes. We are also hoping for a few surprises, but as I said, this is a test to see how this goes. __________________

Thank you for the opportunity for asking questions of Ranger Campbell and his crew.
1. Has any ranger at Nkorho Pan had the opportunity to name any of the animals, and if so which ranger and which animal? 2. Why do we not have any of the cat families stay close to the NP, and call it their area? 3. Are there any fears expressed among the rangers or staff when it comes to the Mapogo males? 4. Is it possible to have an automatic camera set up at the watering hole or is it to small an area? This would be used for night viewing. 5. Is it possible to have two to three live cam operators to operate the cam and talk to us about the animals we see at the wh? This would be especially nice for those who have to view the wh mostly in the dark. This would be their only dedicated job at the lodge. Thank You~~~~Lea

1. Have Wild Dogs been sighted again where we don't see them on the cam? 2. What piece of equipment is most difficult to maintain at the Nkorho pan? 3. What do you envision the next step for Africam to be?

I would like to ask Campbell: How does he see the future development of Africam, taking into account that Africam is a business and, as such, needs a stable income either (or both) via advertising revenue and funding from cammers? Africammers have, on the whole (and this includes many that made - apparently empty - promises in the past) been very reticent in making donations towards new cams and the advanced technology that would enhance their viewing, in spite of many appeals from Campbell and others here...... and internet-based advertising is not productive enough to fund the new 'live/drive' cams that Africammers crave. What other streams of revenue are available to Africam? Whilst the finances of the company are not really 'our' business, I am sure that most cammers would like to know that the business will be viable into the future, and will be in a position to continue to entertain us for many years to come! __________________

First of all Campbell, I would like to say thank you - thank you for bringing many of us a world that we would otherwise never know. It is a truly priceless gift that you give........ Couple of questions. I, from time to time, have sent off emails to the lodge, if I saw something in the middle of the night that I thought they would like to know about. For instance, we had a visit from a leopard at 3:00 AM today, so I sent them an email letting them know about it, in case they wanted to see if they could track it on their morning game drive. My question is, is this the sort of thing they would want to hear about, or would they rather not be bothered with emails. Only other thing that comes to mind, is, does anyone have any idea who our 3:00AM visitor was? Thanks, Roger

Tabs: Thank you for your question but I don't think this is what we had in mind. Campbell has already addressed this and was posted weeks ago. We have the opportunity to talk to Campbell, other Rangers staff you name it to learn all we can about the animals. Campbell's private business is just that, private. Were going to have a limited time to pull this off IF we can pull this off, and we would like to use that time and those in front of those cameras to help us learn about these animals. Here is what Campbell posted weeks ago. Might I suggest a private e-mail to Campbell about these private financial issues that are of concern to you. Dear Members. Africam was the first in the world to bring you live images from the African bush, and we where the first to bring you live streaming video of the daily trails and tribulations of an African waterhole. Being the first has definitely had its challenges and has resulted in countless delays. Africam has in the past 6 months consolidated its resources, concentrating on the technology that brings you live stream video from Africa. Over the next few days and weeks you will see a number changes to the website and lots of other changes behind the scenes. As many of you know for the past 14 months we have been streaming through a company in Canada called Wavelit. Now with the support and help of Kids in the Nest (kidsinthenest.com), we have decided to move away from Wavelit, and run our streaming content independently. Kids in the Nest is a non profit educational society dedicated to educating our children on wildlife and environmental issues. We welcome them to the Africam family, especially Ms Charlie whose dedication and support has helped us over this period. This new move will allow us to be the masters of our own destiny, and less reliant on other companies and organizations for the delivery of our content. Soon we will also be operating on our new, VPN network in South Africa that will allow us to expand and add additional content like the much anticipated Elephant Plains waterhole. The delay in this regards has been due to our local service provider having to upgrade the local provincial network in order to get the capacity to take on an additional feed. We expect that with this new network we will be able to add additional content quicker and more effectively bringing you more cameras and greater diversity from around South Africa. Lastly, Africam is made up of a small group of highly dedicated individuals, who have committed everything to bringing you live content. Africam is free to all viewers and we have not restricted the number of people that can watch simultaneously. Few people realize the cost of streaming such content from Africa and as a result we rely on advertising revenue to fund our operation, we are looking into alternative revenue models for those of you who find the advertising offensive especially the Kids. But for now we would appreciate you patients. Regards Campbell ____________________________ Africam Admin __________________

When I first started watching Africam in February, I was so excited to see any animal! I would write down what it was if I knew and try to find out what it was if I didn't know. Then someone shared the database with me with lots of photos and descriptions which was indeed helpful Would it be possible to add more information about insects and reptiles and more birds too? Where are the terrapins in the winter? Are they buried in the mud of the wh? If they are, how do they escape being crushed when buffs go charging through or ellies? I like Barry/Alfs idea of either typing the name of the creature the cam is focusing on or actually speaking to us like they do on a live drive. Can't wait for a live drive that will allow lots of addicts to be able to see! I am so addicted! Can't wait for new things to happen! This has been a fantastic adventure! One that I will never get to experience by actually coming to Africa!

One night while talking to Campbell on the phone I asked him about those male Lions that had just walked through. When he told me all he knew, I was blown away. It was then that I realized we were missing a huge opportunity here to learn and have some FUN. I have asked him so much and he is literally a walking encyclopedia about everyone of these animals. Where they come from, where they go and so on. . So hummmmmmmmm, why not share that with EVERYONE. Well were about too. __________________

I want to know about the babies. I see the moms-to-be and then later I see babies with them. But I don't know what happens in between. Where are the babies born? How long do they stay "hidden"? Do the moms get to go get food and water? If they do, do they leave their babies and how long? Thank you Campbell and Ms. Charlie! __________________

I would love to see a guided tour of the lodge. Not just the still photos on the website. And it would be fantastic to go into the gullies and down the trails the animals take to see what they're like up close. Do the animal groups have "sleeping quarters" nearby? I noticed that zebras, wildebeast and some other animals are comfortable together at the water hole. Do they "hang out" together away from there? Thank you for this opportunity! __________________

What animals specifically are you asking about. Baboons, Zebras,....? if we know that than Campbell can tell you exactly what it is you want to know.Great question by the way. I have also wondered about that. __________________

First of all, I want to thank Campbell for the amazing kind of work he has done so far, and will do in the future! I would like to ask about the Cheetah population around Nkorho. They are almost never seen on cam, and I am wondering for quite a while now when the last time was the crew did see a Cheetah, and how the population is around Nkorho.
Is there a date or time known for when Campbell will answer questions?
