Memory card

Trying to catch the autumn colours I have been out photographing quite a lot, but ........ my pics look so washed out. There are not the brilliant bright colours like I see on the trees.

Can it be that my memory card is overutilized? Can anything like this happen? I have photographed thousands of photos.

This year the colours are just spectacular and every time I download my pics, I'm faced with the colourless, tired pics.

Could it be that the aperture is worn out? In other words, letting too much light in? I'm not sure that's something worth repairing....perhaps a new camera is in order!

Thanks for answering, never thought of it. Maybe I should take my cam to a shop to have it looked over?

Only problem is, I go on holiday in two days. Sad

It doesn't sound as though you have a problem with equipment. A failing memory card would give errors on your screen instead of photos Smiling A faulty camera would also give other errors.

It actually seems like a white balance problem. The camera's auto white balance doesn't work in all situations. In the case of autumn pictures, possibly the sky was overcast too, this is a common case. Do you have other settings for white balance ? If so, try using the "cloudy" setting, that will warm up all the colours, or even the "shade" setting, which will warm them up even more. A little extra exposure would help too, try setting exposure compensation to +1
