New Djuma Viewer

With the help of some very nice beta-testers...I have managed to slap together a dedicated Djuma Viewer. It operates in the same manner as the stand-alone Windows Media Player that some people are already using. There are two primary differences between this viewer and the embedded player at WildEarth. One...this player is 25% larger for easier viewing. Second, it also comes equipped with an unlimited playlist which will try to connect forever until you tell it to stop or some glitch hangs it.

I built this viewer for those people who cannot use the stand-alone player and auto-clicker and are left to manually click for hours on end. This will allow them to turn it on and go about their business like those using stand-alone. This viewer has the same success/failure ratio as the stand-alone player in terms of initially connecting and reconnecting after the "dump". It still comes down to WE opening more slots to take away the lottery aspect.

Please note that although the player is housed on my server....the feed itself is NOT...repeat, NOT being intercepted and re-broadcast. The feed is still direct from Wildearth.

Good luck with it.... Smiling

Maxx- I hope you know how much you helped so many people with your viewer. I got on several drives that I would have otherwise missed without it. Thank you so much- and I hope you make a new clicker for the new server, just in case. Really appreciate all your work!

I am aware that my viewer still points to the old 80-slot server. If it doesn't connect, you should use the new 1000-slot server located here:

What will happen with my Djuma viewer is still a question at this time. Whether it is still needed remains unknown at this time....or which server I should aim it at. Currently it appears that everyone is having no trouble getting into WE on that new server.

That's a good point....how many slots is something still in question. Another 80 doesn't help much....

Maxx I for one am very happy to use your viewer....seems the only way I can get connected at all. Even with more slots to come it still won't be that everyone will get a slot....it sure will help though.

That would be good news. I just read a fresh comment or two there and some folks are still unhappy with me having the viewer up. I have always felt the best way to deal with the problem was to add more slots. Everything else...including my viewer....was just a band-aid.

Yep it's true, Maxx! Pieter announced it not once, but twice. They will be using a server in Los Angeles for this. Maybe they are waiting to announce it on the blog after the changes have actually been made..?

I read in the djuma thread that there was some sort of announcement made on the drive that more slots were going to be added? I don't see anything on the blog yet about it....but if true, then perhaps the days of the of the lottery and frustration will come to an end and my viewer won't even be needed. We shall see....

Some good news for you Djumites..... Eye-wink

Based on recent traffic analysis....the post-Mapogo rush has peaked and is easing. Use of my viewer, which I am using as a polling sample, peaked on the 15th and is dropping. It's still higher than it was pre-Mapogo, though. I don't know if this has translated into you guys getting on easier or not....but wanted to post the numbers.
