Background Info:

The Nkorho Pan waterhole is located at Nkorho Bush Lodge in the North Eastern corner of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve about 1km (0.62 miles) from the unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. The Pan is situated at the bottom of an open plain, about 250m from Nkorho Bush Lodge with the camera located on top of a termite mound on the Eastern side.

Content:

Nkorho has seen the Big 5 (Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant) in 7 hours before and is the real hot spot of the Sabi Sand. The pan is also frequented by a number of “resident” animals. In particular is the resident herd of wildebeest and impala and a family of warthogs that can often be seen drinking and wallowing in the mud at the pan. There is also a variety of bird life with over 100 species sighted and recorded on our data base.

When to view:

Nkorho Pan is very productive from a game viewing perspective throughout the year with peak viewing over the winter months from May through to November. There are the usual suspects during the day and then you can catch the sunrise or sunset “rush” before waiting for the night time sightings when some of the rare animals make an appearance. Spring time between September and October is “family time” where you can see the young ones making an appearance.

Sabi Sand:

Named after two rivers that cut through this area, namely the Sabie and Sand River systems. The area is renowned for it's wildlife and in particular the big five, lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. It is rated as one of the best reserves in Africa to see these large animals in there natural habitat and in particular leopard. Its not all about the big animals and the Sabi Sand has plenty of other smaller animals that call this place their home.

I just want to say thank you

I just want to say thank you very much for sponsoring such a wonderful site. From my relative safety half a world away I can feel I am right there next to the Pan viewing these magnificent animals. My favorite is the Warthog!

Hi and welcome to Africam

Hi and welcome to Africam and the forum Clyde.  I do hope you will join us in the daily created Boma chat thread where we talk about what we are seeing and hearing at the waterholes.  Feel free to ask any questions there too.  The controls for the cam at NK are in the lounge area of the lodge and usually controled by one of the lodge employees but at times it might be controled by a guest or someone else.  There is a picture somewhere on the site that shows the controls but I can't seem to find it right off now.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.... especially when the cams go down.

I am a new user and love

I am a new user and love watching the cams. Who is in control of the panning and zooming? I was just wondering how that is done.

Thanks

the NK cam is working

the NK cam is working fine.  Are you using any ad blocking software?  Have latest version of flash player?  You might also want to check the steaming cam problems thread HERE If you are still having a problem post there and we will try to help you find out why you are having a problem.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.... especially when the cams go down.
