Thanks folks.... Smiling

Funny how a little bird in distress makes you think sometimes....

Another time or place and it has no meaning. I just checked on him and he flopped himself into his water dish with his head in the food dish. Don't know if it was intentional....but there he is. Maybe he wanted to soak his sore foot.....

Just heard a small explosion and the power briefly went out. Then sirens. Usually means a power transformer blew up...so likely running on emergency power now as the lights seem dim. Better sign off for now. When it rains it pours.....catch ya later. Eye-wink

Glad the "Mafia" brought a few smiles. Usually...the mafia brings everything BUT smiles. Laughing out loud

Maxx, you are so well thought of here.  You are a ray sunshine, but sometimes life gets in the way and the light dims just a little bit.  Then before you know it is time to shine again.  Your art work gives us a lot of light and joy.

Nothing like seeing a wee babe, peacefully asleep in mama's arms...especially after the earlier commotion. I was watching him too, Ingwe.

I hope our injured one is okay. Looked like a canine tooth\fang rip.

It's tough, Maxxx. Birds are so fragile I think that just stress can do them in. But look at it this way...if he does die he had some tender kindness before. So not all bad really.

It will be getting cold tonight...and rain is forcast...so I know he won't likely make it through the night. Perhaps we are all just a cold rainy night away from our end. Sad

Oh Maxx, that is sad to see. But, today I saw this, it made me happy Smiling

There is a balance in nature too...

I missed the baboon scenes... Sad

Well....for better or for worse....I have tried to save the little bird. Got a carboard box...filled with grass clippings, food and water...and placed him in it under the porch roof. It was amazing how calm he was cupped in my hand...like he felt better or something. I know he likely won't make it, but one of my most favorite poems:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
