Keep watching ...who knows maybe someone will be back at the cam when Americans are around

Rather delayed here... but wanted to share that I am in America and was sitting here watching the Egrets also between the time frame of 3:47 and 5:22am(my time). It kind of bothers me to see such negative remarks thrown at The Americans just because we may possibly be the majority of the viewers. And let's not forget our friends up in Canada as well that are in the same time frame as us. The majority of Americans that I have seen posting are mainly watching "during the night in SA" and as those of us that monitor the cam pretty much all day know, there are less animals and frequent zooming does not last for long. Please keep in mind that when the New Day starts in SA it is just 5:00pm in my area which is EST. So, for me to watch for most of the critter action I have to stay up late. PLUS... our Zoomies are just volunteers, so sure hope they don't scan about and read these negative remarks made towards them or we may end up with even less.

Very well said, Karen!!!  And I will add my 2 cents worth, as well.  Seldom, if ever, have I heard/read such disparaging remarks on here.  It sounded for all the world like bratty little children, whining because they couldn't have exactly what they wanted.  Everything we get from Africam is FREE, people!!  It is NO ONE'S full time job to man the camera, all day long, so sometimes they miss things.  We all miss things, by the way.  We have to go away from our beloved window on Africa to attend to the other things in our lives, family, job, let the dog out, feed the kids.  How many times have we gone off to do something and missed a really good sighting?  The zoomies are human, and everything they give us should be appreciated.  They SHOULD NOT be demeaned for failing to attend to every little selfish desire we have.

As for the offensive comments about Americans, I guess they are probably correct.  After all, we get to watch the waterhole all night long, in the dark, usually with no zoomie at all.  If that isn't preferential treatment, I don't know what is.....

And incidently, I notice that there were more pictures posted today, than usual.  No less than 37 well zoomed pictures of the Egrets, mostly posted by those who did all of the complaining.

Karin, Gabby and the other part time zoomies - if you are reading this, I would like to apologise to you for the disparaging comments made by some of my less grateful fellow bomites.  Keep up the good work - most of us appreciate you greatly.

IF this music is coming from the lodge somehow, we THEN know it's possible for someone at the cam controls to talk to us, right? It would be so neat if Karin or Gabbi could pop on & let us know what's going on sometimes.

Edit to add: Like NOW!!!!!

Sure would be good if they did talk to us and they seem to have the technology to do it.
