Hi Brenda, I have the cam on but I was not watching.  I missed whatever it was, but I would think that there would have been some sort of sound for a kill. Hopefully someone else saw what you saw and can confirm.

Brenda, if you are talking about the white pile of something at about the two o'clock position of the waterhole (just above the WH finger), don't worry...that's a pile of elephant dung, I believe I read a few days ago.

I saw a little critter make a trip around the waterhole about fifteen or twenty minutes ago, but I couldn't identify it.  All I know is it was small, and it's legs and gait didn't seem like the bokkies we've been seeing lately.  But I watched it go off camera to the right.

I'm certain Brenda is referring to the pile of dung she sees. I was watching the whole time and there was definitely not a killing. The little bokkie moved off camera and all was silent, except for the sound of the wind, or storm, or whatever it is that causes the loud blowing sounds in the camera at night.

We have another small something drinking from the finger.

EDIT:  Penzi, it does look cat-like, doesn't it?  I wish it would move over here nearer to the camera!

Um, that did look like a lion drinking over in the corner.  I also heard the hyaena call.  Hmmm, perhaps Brenda did catch something I missed.  Uh oh.

Oof!  I hate when stuff like that happens.  Haste makes waste and all that stuff.

Boy, some negligent zoomie sure picked the wrong night to leave the camera unfocused.

between feeding the baby and husking corn and trying to catch what Brenda saw.  I missed almost everything.  My sound is turned up and heard nothing. Sad

I wonder if the lodge would like a wake-up call to pan right?

Welcome to the Boma Brenda!  Maybe Aquila, or another of our video(ers) will have caught any action on tape.  I had just pulled up the cam and saw the cat drinking.

I apologize for assuming that, Brenda. After I posted it, there was Mr/Ms. Lion happily sipping from the watering hole. I am impressed that you can actually see anything. Your eyesight is surely better than mine. This out of focus camera issue is really starting to get on my nerves.

Gosh, I don't know what that was. It was quite big. It seemed a tad nervous to be a cat  Puzzled Couldn't hear it lapping...

Did old Babs move away?  Remember the shrill warning calls when the Lions were within a near distance to the watering hole?

Are Leopards noisy when they drink?  Lions and  hyaenas are usually quite loud...and he seemed to be nervous as he was getting a drink...

I don't know what it was for sure, either.  It slinked and crouched like a cat, but then darted away like a skittish bokkie after its drink.
