I found a pic Fraps got of the white blur, it does look like when the big birds swoop around.

Karen, sorry I'm late responding but I saw the falling star and the critter/bird that went by really fast. I'm pretty sure it was a bird as there was no sound of anything running. Smiling

Also, when the reedbuck up front got startled and then froze, then very slowly and quietly walked away. I was waiting for a predator to appear. I've seen an Eland do the same thing when it noticed a Lion watching it from just a few yards away.

That wildie gave me such a fright! I've seen impala stand stock still while a lioness walked by, so I thought that was what was going on Embarassed

There must be some cats around, loads of buffs and other bokkies hanging around  Eye-wink

Ingwe, I think it was one of those birds that look rather big that almost fly in to the cam sometimes. All I saw was a kind of big white blur zoom by. At my viewing angle, it looked close to ground, but we all know how that can look tricky with view angle.
That Wildie that was trying to get close to Reedbucks earlier scared me too, I was quickly enlarging my screen. That double color made it look like a male lion to me also.

I saw the shooting star too Karen.  But I totally missed whatever was at the back of the waterhole.

Yes, I saw the shooting star reflected in the water as the two reedbuck were drinking.

hey,
when that last reedbuck exited on the right, did any one see something at back side of the water hole go by real fast? I'm hoping it was trail of a bird flying.

then.....on right side of marula tree... any one see a shooting star? it came down, instead of going across the sky.

Lea, I could hear them before I saw them.  Also I figure out what it is most likely to be.  Impala are di-urnal whereas reedbuck are active at night.  It's hard to tell for sure sometimes with the night visitors, but these guys came close enough on this side of the waterhole to get a look at them.  It was the wildebeest I was gaping at Eye-wink
