New Day of Nkorho Sightings
Nkorho cam sightings discussion - Monday 13th August 07
That scared the bejeeebus out of me! LOL.
funny stuff Aquila! Reminds me of my hounds who always noisily go out the back dog door like cowboys with 6-guns blazing
Reedbuck are making a noise now.....
That bird just flew into the cam tree
LOL Gerda! I was thinking the same thing... like they were playing with the littler ones saying okay, last one to the water hole is a funky ellie.
Thanks, I just saw you uploaded it ! It's great !
So funny to see them run like this... it really looks like they made a bet to see who would be the first to arrive at the waterhole ?
Oh, Aquila, thank you - I just arrived and see that I have missed hurrying elephants !! I will be very happy to see them. I love to see their gait when they are in a rush. For an animal that is not capable of running, they sure are efficient hurriers.
Just as I tuned in, there was one wildebeest rubbing its head in the mud and trying to paw and churn more mud loose. I watched that behaviour another time, and it looked with both that they were frantic to get the base of their horns in the mud. The previous one galloped away tossing its head and then rubbed and rubbed against a dead shrub. You could tell it was almost mad with the irritation - itch - whatever it was.
I was reminded of the kudu male some time back that used to almost stand on his head trying to get mud on his horns. Now that I have seen that behaviour a few times, I wonder if it is some kind of parasitic infestation or ?? Anybody know about that?
Yes Gerda, if all went well I do have the elephants charging the water hole on video. I will check it out and upload it.
a nursing Vervet. Too sweet.
Aquilla, did you get it on video ???
Does that 5th ellie that just arrived wear a collar?
