The little bokkie was there also. He always seems to make an appearance following the rhinos!

Yay!  The warthog stayed around long enough this morning/afternoon for me to see him.  Usually the warties are gone before I can get up out of bed and on the cam, but not today.  This is only the second time I've seen one live!  And he's been here a while...I've been watching him for over 20 minutes.

Wow - its fascinating to watch the other baboons' concern over the one with the hurt foot.  I wonder if he has a thorn in it & they are trying to help him get it out.

Let's hope that they are successful soon   limping is very difficult   specially when looking after the young ones

the tree is sure getting a workout with the youngster baboons  jumping to catch the lower branches.  What fun   looks like "little boys" trying to catch branch and climb a treeLaughing

That's what it looked like to me, ex-centric.  It didn't look like the fun running they do sometimes.

Was that not a wonderful sunset? I think this is the busiest I have seen the wh in a while. First time I got to see the warthogs.

First Hippo in quite a while. I wondered when they would be back again.  And isn't it about time for the Rhinos ?  Wonder what kind of reaction that would get LOL.

Well, I guess he didn't want to take a long nap after all!  Just a quick dip and a drink.  Laughing

Short visit, but exciting just the same LOL.  Was that a Jackal that just ran under the cam ?  I thought for a min that it may have been a Fox ..and another at the finger ?

Dreamer, I, too, thought that a jackal ran just past the cam right after the hippo left.  He came and went so quickly I couldn't tell for sure.  And I think we just had a duiker or steenbok (?) at the finger.  It looked to me like a little deer of some kind.  But then I have a hard time identifying the critters at night, unless they're big.  Laughing

The little Bokkies sure have become frequent visitors lately ! The are just so darn cute. When I first saw the Jackal (?) at the finger for a drink I thought I saw those Big Ears ..but when he ran under the cam, it looked more like a Jackal. Night time seems to be more exciting than day viewlng lately.  Did anyone see the Baboon this morning (early afternoon CAT ) that seem to be holding a dead infant ? It nearly broke my heart.  She was with it for a long time and I saw no movement ..the cam was away from her when she moved so not sure if it attached to her or not .

Here is the critter...just after the hippo. I think it was a jackal, but seems to have a white tip on the tail. That would be a side-striped jackal instead of the usual black-back jackal....

I didn't see that, (I have a lot of videos to catch up on)   I did see a Vervet with a dead baby in Pilansberg.  She was just holding her and patting her.  She would put her down to forage and then pick her up again.  It was the saddest thing to watch Sad

That is the one.  I never noticed before, but does the Black Back seem to have more furtive, hyper movements than the Side Striped ? It just did not strike me right off as moving like a Jackal.  Oh wouldn't it be wonderful just to live with and study the social intricasies of these little critters that so facinate us ? LOL

It was hard to watch ..kept hoping to see movement. She was very gentle and loving with it. allowing a Sister to touch and groom it. But I never saw her put it to breast. It was hard to see with the sun light, but got enough of a look to know it was a newborn, very young infant.  I had to leave for a few, and my Sis said there was a slight altercation with another Baboon passing by, and then she lost track of it. I never saw it on the ground,so I am hoping it was alive and Mom left with it attached to her breast.  They were sitting right at the finger , when you go to check your vids. Lots of fun with the little wingnuts too LOL.
