Sixteen months is a long time to be in a bad mood.  Not as bad as an elephant.  I find it interesting that roaches, ants, etc. can have lots of babies in the same year.  Maybe the bigger you are the longer it takes to make a precious one.

A calf begins grazing when it's 2 months old and weans at about a year. It stays in close association with its mother untill it is 2 or 3 years old, when she has her next calf, and maintains close ties after that.

I hear the baby rhino.  And momma too...wish they'd show themselves.  I even hear water dripping.

OK, I figured out my picture was frozen and can see all three clearly.  Not such a baby anymore.  I thought I read that at 3 years they do not nurse anymore.
