Nkorho Bush Lodge is located in the Northeastern corner of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve about 1km (0.62 miles) from the unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. The Pan is situated at the bottom of an open plain, about 250m (270.4 yards) from Nkorho Bush Lodge with the camera located on top of a termite mound on the Eastern side. Nkorho has seen the Big 5 in 7 hours (Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Cape Buffalo and Elephant). The pan is also frequented by a number of “resident” animals. In particular is the resident herd of Wildebeest and Impala and a family of Warthogs that can often be seen drinking and wallowing in the mud at the pan. There is also a variety of bird life with over 100 species sighted.

When to view: From a game viewing perspective, animals are around throughout the year with peak viewing over the winter months from around May to October. There are the usual suspects during the day. You can catch the sunrise or sunset “rush” before waiting for the night time sightings, when some of the rare animals make an appearance. 2019 All Rights Reserved
