Likely he has a weopon. However a shotgun would not do any good against larger animals and likely he will never need it. I talked with one ranger with 25 years experience he has only to use his weopon 3 times and that was against wounded animals and he was on foot.

I work in a school, and though it wasn't possible to have the volume turned up, I did have the video stream up and running through most of the drive. It lasted a long time! From about 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. est.- daylight to dark over there.
What little bits I heard were very interesting...he really gets into the flora and fauna and explains things. Very cool. I've now decided he has the coolest job on earth!

I think so too but, I don't think I would like to be out after dark without a weapon ...just in case you run into an angry critter !! I wonder if he carries a shotgun in the landy.

I wastched the evening drive - or tried to - the buffering was pretty bad! Pieter's little "factoids" about the area are very interesting!
