Sorry, I truly didn't mean to offend you, maxx, or anyone else. I haven't seen that particular speech, before, and felt it needed to be said. Roger No problem, Roger.... I went back and read my post to you....and it was a bit harsh. Sorry about that... Just went off there because I hade been given speeches twice before along those lines. Once early when I commented on there not being a zoomie when we needed one...and also by the Djuma folks when I heckled Wildearth over their slot system. Basically...."it's free, so shut up" type of thing.

It's true we don't often get such a good closeup. I just looked at the sightings log and this is only the fourth time.
We have an animal in MN that some call a civet cat. It is actually a spotted skunk and smells like one too! I believe they are rather rare now, but we had one in our workshop once when I was a kid growing up on a farm and it sprayed my dad!

Hi all, Ann's right, it was a civet. Great sighting!
Well, I didn't spell it right, but close! Can you tell I have been studying the database? I think others have mentioned seeing them before, but they were always on the other side of the wh and sometimes didn't even stop, just went slinking on by.

Sorry for the triple post! It didn't seem like it was going anywhere, so I hit post again! |

I've heard the term civet cat in SA too, describing a civet. Co-incidentally I've just had a little friend visiting me from the UK who is extremely interested in all wildlife. We managed to find her a striped skunk one night, that wasn't roadkill, She was telling me all about spotted skunks and had just finished a project on them!
