1:05 am - Something lapping water at the far right hand side of the pan. Could only see the head. Mongoose maybe? Low to the ground, but sounded like a dog lapping water. Shorter than a jackal.

1:06 am small animal walking at back of pan. Too far to tell.

Oooops, sorry. A new day. This should be on December 8th. :oops:

That was an eagle ctmh*gal - I believe that it has been ID-ed as a Wahlbergs Eagle. I have not had a chance to take a close look at it yet but I think that the ID is correct.

The 'black bird' will be bothering the eagle by instinct - trying to chase it away as eagles and other raptors will happily take the chicks of other birds for food for their own chicks.
