is it possible for wildebeest to have twins?
Wildebeest, like all placental mammals are capable of having twins, but its occurance in blue wildebeest would be exceeedingly rare. The antelope has a precocial calf that needs to be able to walk almost straight away, thus gestation is long at 8.5 months. Added to this is a highly synchronised lambing period. In order for a blue wildebeest to produce pair of viable twins tht survive are thus highly unlikely.
