Is thatn singing or chanting in the background?

Another hyena lurking in the shadow just past the two sleeping lions.

08: 52 pm Something calling. Almost sounded like a cat, but probably hyena or jackals. Hyenas can make so many different sounds. It made the lioness look up from her resting place.

Hyena for sure. Wow!

8:08 pm male lion walked past the waterhole. Maybe in for another drink.

Someone is still at the cam panning here and there! Yeah! It's the older, thinner lion.

08:13 lion flat out in the grass for some food overdose recovery time. They have to eat as much as possible but that has got to be uncomfortable. Eating all that food raises blood pressure and lots of panting. Carnivores have short digestive tracts. Not a particuarly efficient digestive system like herbivores. Eat and poop, eat and poop.

alphadawg - we are lucky to be able to see and hear what we do. I am going to make a suggestion in that forum to ask about installation of another light at the night cam for nights like this. I would not mind donating to make that happen. If we all pitch in that would be great!

...and witth lions close by, we can expect nil acitivity at the waterhole tonight.

Where those hyenas making those sounds?
